It's a...

Baby! See the head, the spine and the really long legs? Definitely our baby!

Joseph and I have decided to keep the sex of our baby a secret for a bit. We want to enjoy it a bit together before telling everyone.

The ultrasound was wonderful... for Joseph. He got to see the baby moving constantly. Flips, turns, spins, everything! The ultrasound tech partially complained about the fact that she couldn't get the baby to stay still for a few shots she needed. But in due time she got everything for her "report". Not sure what's in the report but we'll find out on Tuesday at our doctor's appointment.

I really didn't get to see much until she turned the screen for me a few times. But when I did see the little one I couldn't wait to see more. Joseph made the comment after seeing how much the baby moved that he understood why I needed to eat constantly throughout the day. He said that if the baby was moving this much all day it must really eat up the calories :)

I have had a few new pregnancy related symptoms. I got swollen ankles on the plane ride over to Europe and had chaffing almost every day when we walked around a lot. Sooo fun. Not! I also felt the baby move for the first time this Tuesday. I don't know if I've felt anything since then because I can't really distinguish certain feelings right now. I am sure the kicking will get stronger and I'll definitely be able to distinguish it in a few days/weeks.

Anywho... I wanted to leave you with a cute picture of the baby's feet but then I'd have to walk all the way to the car, get the picture, scan it, save it, upload it and than post it. Too much work for right now so I'll post tomorrow with the cute footsies! Oh, and I don't know if you can tell this early but those feet are huge! Guess the baby will be taking after me :)

2 Weeks to Go: 1st U/S & Appointment

In two weeks from today in approximately 3 hours I will be at my first appointment. I don't know how I can get through the next two weeks. I keep worrying and thinking that I should have had betas drawn so that my mind would be put at ease. The one thing that does put me at ease is that I let myself POAS every Friday to reassure me that, yes, the results still say "Pregnant". I've now used up my pregnancy tests and am contemplating going to the Dollar Store for some cheapies. (Shhh... don't tell Joseph!).

I have all of the symptoms of pregnancy now except for vomiting (but I occasionally throw up in my mouth... not pretty). I think that the symptoms are much stronger than the last pregnancy so this gives me hope. Every time I am tired or feel queasy I thank God. I need these symptoms to give me the strength to move forward and not ask for an earlier appointment :)

I took a picture of my belly last night and really shouldn't have. The bloat was out of control! I doubled in size from my last bloat picture last week so I am definitely not going to post it. But this morning my stomach is back to normal. I even woke Joseph up to show him. Maybe I'll take another picture tonight and post it if it isn't as bad as last night.

Oh Bloat: More Symptoms Come My Way!

This picture is a bit late but here's my 5 week photo. I know I said one photo a month but I can just feel the difference in my body. I am BLOATED! At 5 weeks! I thought it wouldn't hit for at least another week or so (like my last pregnancy) but it's here. It started yesterday. By the time I got home I had to get my jeans off ASAP. After sitting in an airport and on a plane for a few hours my belly needed to be let loose. Today at the end of the day I practically ripped off my pants when I got home and jumped into PJ's.

I don't understand it. Baby isn't even the size of a seed but I have gassed up like crazy. And I was able to button my pants (and had room!) this morning. But tonight, ugh! Don't get me wrong. I love feeling pregnant when no one else knows :) I love the fact that I am still nauseous practically the whole day, my boobs hurt like crazy and I am starting to bloat. It means that my body says I'm still pregnant. And I'm loving every minute of it. After this weekend's scare I have cherished every nauseous moment.

Speaking of the weekend... I am planning on blogging about our trip. I've just been busy. I'll post soon!

Early Pregnancy Symptoms: Bring It On!

So for the past week... er... week and a half... I have been 1. nauseous 2. achy 3. tired. I have also have experienced sore and tender breasts off and on. The soreness was bad today. There was a sharp throbbing pain in my left boob for about 10 or so minutes.

And you know what? I am not complaining! It's wonderful! I think that I have more symptoms this go around and they're stronger. Hopefully this is a good sign of what's to come... a full term pregnancy. I don't want to jinx anything though.

I have scheduled my first pre-natal doctor's appointment today. It's for July 22nd. I should be about 8 weeks by then. I don't plan on eating that morning just in case things don't go well. I hate thinking like that but I can't get my hopes up this time. I just have to push the appointment date out of my mind and live life normally. Let's hope these few weeks go by quickly.
