Hair Styles for a Busy Mom with Lilla Rose

One thing I don't have enough time for these days is my hair. It's either thrown up in a pony tail or a haphazard bun because when I finally realize I need to do something with my hair we're already 20 minutes late.

And since my hair can be a bit crazy and frizzy some hair clips do not do well in my hair.

Low Pony Tail - medium size Flexi

Luckily I found this amazing Flexi clip from Lilla Rose consultant, Holly Noble.  Now I can make quite a few hair styles with just one clip! As soon as I opened my package from the mail I immediately put my hair in a pony tail to test it out. How cute is this Celtic design??

After a few days of playing with it I came up with quite a few hair styles I enjoyed. The best part is that each of them stay in all day! Now that's a lot to ask of a hair clip, especially when I'm running around with little kids all day.

Another thing I absolutely love about the Lilla Rose Flexi clips are that they're so cute I don't mind wearing them for a night out on the town or to the grocery store. It's stylish, simple, and easy to use.

Lilla Rose makes it simple:
  • decide on a product
  • choose your size (with a little help from a short video)
  • pick out a style, and your clip is sent directly to you.
Once you receive your Lilla Rose Flexi clip, you can find ways to use and style with it by simply visiting the Lilla Rose site and clicking on the Hair Styles tab. The tutorials are complete with photos and videos to make it as easy as possible to recreate the styles.

Here are a few I've tried:
  • pony tail
  • half up half down
  • twist
  • bun
And there are more than that! The possibilities are endless with the Flexi. And there are other cute options at Lilla Rose as well including hair bands, o-rings, hair sticks, and bobby pins.

What I love about my Flexi clip is the fact that it's so easy to grab and go. I can put it in my diaper bag and grab it when I need it. Since it's larger than my pony tail holders I never loose it at the bottom of my bag. And I love the variety in shapes, sizes, and styles to choose from. There's a Flexi clip for every season and occasion.

To learn more about Lilla Rose, and read about how they started, head on over to the About Us section of their website. It's truly amazing at how such a small concept turned into an exciting and lucrative business. And if you fall in love with Lilla Rose as I have, you can even look into becoming a Lilla Rose consultant as Holly has.

Mom Haircuts

Every once in a while I peruse the search terms used to get to my blog. I've had a few expected ones and a few off the wall ones. The one I wasn't so sure about... "Mom Haircuts"

So I ask you... is this a mom haircut?

No, this isn't the picture that showed up under that search name but my haircuts are usually all the same since after having kids.

Sure, I used to have long, long hair that went past the middle of my back. But the only reason why I grew it that long was to be able to style it any way I wished for my wedding day.

And with the heat of living in San Diego I just couldn't bear to keep my long, long hair for too long.

I've decided that I need to define exactly what "Mom Haircuts" are so that I won't be placed in that category until I do, in fact, have a mom haircut. So I went to my trusted internet friends for their opinions. Here's what they had to say:

"When I think of a mom hair cut it's a chin length bob the curls under at the ends." - Sarah of East 9th Street

"Two of my blogging friends have it and it's the same one Sarah is talking about, lol. I'm growing mine out and it's going through a "mom cut" phase... :/ A little shorter than [the picture above]" - Mickey of A Helicopter Mom

"Crap. That's my default haircut." - Greta of How Was Your Day

"Well I have a shorter Mom cut, but I guess if I actually do it, it's not mine is longer in the front and layered in the back but if I don't style it I totally have a mom cut." - Amanda of the Frugal Greenish Mama

"Now the one I'm talking about has absolutely no layers - so it kinda looks like mushroom head" - Sarah of East 9th Street

"I really really really love this girl's hair." - Greta of How Was Your Day

And from there I think we have it!

A Mom Haircut, different from "mom hair" of course, can be easily defined as a short, straight bob with or without bangs!

What's your definition of a Mom Haircut? Do you have one? Is it really a Mom Haircut?
