Love the prizes in your giveaway! My son loves to read, this is right up his alley.

About the positive environment---YES I definitely think it's a crucial part for a healthy, well-rounded childhood. Some kids can overcome a bad environment but it's very, very hard. I see the effects of negative parenting all the time in my students and it is so terribly sad.

I speak to my son respectful and give him a lot of love.

I've found that if I stay positive, they tend to be positive. I like to involve the kids in some of the decision-making since they are older now.

It's very important! My boyfriend and I make a point to never argue in front of our daughter, and reward her for good behavior. We try to make sure she knows what's right and wrong.

Extremely important, with my kids it was very important to me to always make sure they knew they were loved. I have been rewarded by having my daughter be an awesome mother to my grandkids.

Yes it's very important. Especially during summer when they spend so much time at home. You have to find ways to entertain and socialize them.

Positivity is crucial for self esteem. I try to give my child attention (hard with a newborn but I always try) and encouragement.

Keeping a positive environment is important. I try to let kids make their own choices (within reason- given choices you can live with for them to choose between).

Your baby may instinctively clutch a toy that you put in her hand, but she can't really play with it. She may enjoy looking at a plaything or listening to it, but she'd much rather look at and listen to you.
