Happy Halloween!

We definitely had a great Halloween this year. Simple and sweet. We went dressed as a lion, tiger, and bear. My husband was supposed to wear a shirt that said "Oh my!" but it just didn't happen. Oh well. No one really noticed my costume anyway (and we didn't get any pictures either) so you'll have to enjoy my little lion and tiger... boy did they have fun.

We headed out to do a little trick or treating around the neighborhood and as expected after 3 blocks into it our 2.5 year old asked to head home. He was ready to eat his candy. But he had no problem knocking on a few doors on the way back. He would knock, yell trick-or-treat and wait patiently until someone answered. He got so bummed when some houses didn't answer (but a light was on and pumpkins lit). But when they did answer he'd repeat his trick or treat line, then wait for more candy. I had to keep reminding him that he only got one handful.

We ended up at my brother-in-law's house (on our cul-de-sac) and my daughter decided it was her time to finally try this trick or treat stuff out for herself. Except she just let herself in and bypassed the candy altogether in an effort to get to Nelson, the dog.

After we got back we didn't set any limits. We let E have his fill and after about 4-5 selections out of his bucket he was ready to eat dinner. We ordered a pizza for us and boiled up a hot dog for him . By the time we were done ordering the pizza my daughter was passed out... it wasn't even 7:30. Daddy and E helped pass out candy to the few visitors to our house before passing out himself after coming down from his sugar high. He fell asleep with a smile on his face. Now that's a perfect Halloween!
