While at BlogHer'12 I had the pleasure of meeting Beth from Me as a Mommy. Through our conversation I came to learn a great deal about a new-to-me brand of cloth diapers, Applecheeks. And from what she described, my little miss needed a cute delicious Applecheeks diaper of her own!
So the first thing I did when I got home (after greeting the family and handing out presents) was went to check out what Applecheeks is all about. I wanted to know the prints, the sizes, the options! And was so excited to read a few great reviews and learn more about the company.
I was excited to get my hands on this gorgeous Delicious print Applecheeks diaper (in the pictures included in this post). Not only is it super cute, but it had some great features I hadn't yet seen on a cloth diaper. With the gussets not only around the legs but the waist as well, I'm assured that I get a good fit every time I put this diaper on my daughter.
And the insert was the perfect size to add absorbency without the bulk. Now I love my fluffy butts but when fluff butt turns into ginormous butt, we have a problem. Not only did this diaper fit well in my daughters pants, it also stayed on when I took off her pants. We have a problem with her tiny waste and diapers coming off while I pull her pants or shorts down. That gusseting at the waist really does help!
The Envelope System
Applecheeks are not a pocket diaper. They are an envelope system.
What does that mean, you ask?
Well it's similar to a pocket diaper but there's no need to un-stuff the diaper before washing. Due to it's unique design the insert will come out in the wash through the washing machine's agitation.
The Fit
Our Applecheeks 2-Size Envelope Cover included a super soft micro-fleece lining, a waterproof shell, two rows of snaps to insure the perfect fit, and gussets on the legs and front and back of the diaper.
Since my daughter is so petite I wasn't sure if I'd get a tight fit with the snaps but because of the double rows I had no problem getting a snug, secure fit.
At first I wasn't sure if the rise would be too high without the option to snap down to a different size but it seemed to fit and didn't stick out too much when I put pants on her after we were done with our photo shoot.
Even though she fell asleep an hour after we put it on and stayed asleep for 2+ hours, she didn't leak at all during nap time. And this diaper wasn't even fully prepped! It's only been washed twice so far.
Over all, our initial impression of Applecheeks is a good one. We'll definitely be looking to add a few more to our stash and cannot wait to start shopping around for new patterns and colors to try out.

I don't use cloth diapers, but what a cute pattern! I'll share this brand with my friends who are CDing mommas :) Thanks for sharing!!
It's wonderful how much cloth diapers have evolved in recent years. If I had another baby it would be difficult to come up with a reason not to use cloth diapers.
I have always wanted to try Applecheeks! I did not hear about them until my second child who inherited his stash from his brother...so I really have to beg and plead to convince their daddy that he needs another diaper :-)
It was so great to meet you!! Love the way that dipe looks on him - it's absolutely DELICIOUS! ;)
I've heard such great things about Applecheeks! I think I need to add one to the stash!
I have a few from apple cheeks. I love them!
I love my Applecheeks diaper!
These look so cute and comfortable.
Thank you for the review. =)
i love applecheeks their diapers are so cute and they look comfortable, thanks for the review
I love applecheeks! This is our go to diaper!
I love the ruffles around the legs and that the insert agitates out, both great features!
I LOVE AppleCheeks. We had some Size 1s when my kiddo was littler, but now he's a toddler and they don't fit anymore. I'd love some Size 2s for him now! The new prints are adorable, and we just haven't found another diaper that's as trim and absorband as our ACs.
I love my pocket style diapers, these look like they would be right up my CDing alley :)
Love our applecheeks diapers!
cute diaper. I like pocket type diapers. I find that most of my pockets come out in the wash by themselves, at least most of the time, but I try to remember to unstuff them because it is not 100%. The envelope system looks like it would be less likely to come out in the wash, but I guess looks can be deceiving.
Never tried Applecheeks but I am very interested in the envelope style.
Would love to try apple cheeks.
It's lovely!
I LOVE AppleCheeks!! I use mine as an AI2 because I hate stuffing and I can use it multiple times (less laundry). I use their bamboo prefolds because I hate microfiber.
Looks like a great diaper. I'll have to look into trying one!
That is a super cute print. I'm not sure about the envelope opening but I'd be willing to give it a try. I do like the extra elastic at the waist!
I have never tried this brand before but would love to!
Would love to try these diapers - my cousis' sister recomends them! Such cute colors and easy to stuff too!
i loooove the apple cheeks prints, and they look so soft
I love that you don't have to unstuff the diaper before washing, but the location of that opening is very unfortunate if your little one has a runny poop :( -- other than that, I Think these are AWESOME diapers!
That first print is cute. I have no use for cloth diapers, but I can definitely think of a few mommas I know who would probably love the idea.
I have been dying to try them. I only had one diaper in my stash until I had my second and I have been wanting to try these, but hubby doesn't think we need more :) I love the prints and how trim these look
applecheeks are so dang cute...they've been on our must-try list for a long time, but are out of our budget!
I would love to try Applecheeks. None of my diapers are quite like this one.
I would love to try Applecheeks! They look so comfy.
Great review! I've been wanting to try Apple Cheeks.
