@PBSKids Wild Kratts: Predator Power on DVD {Review}

One of my son's latest obsessions is for the show Wild Kratts. He absolutely loves watching it in the afternoon after his nap on PBS Kids and if he misses it he immediately goes to the computer to watch it on PBSKids.org.

In every episode we join the adventures of Chris and Martin Kratt as they encounter incredible wild animals, combining science education with fun and adventure, while traveling to animal habitats around the globe. Each adventure explores an age-appropriate science concept central to an animal’s life and showcases a never-before-seen wildlife moment.

Recently I was given the opportunity to review Wild Kratts: Predator Power on DVD and I have to say that it was a winner in this house. As soon as we got the DVD in the mail my son was begging to watch it. You can see his pleading eyes in the first photo above. Works like a charm every time! I just cant say no.

This DVD was a great alternative to our afternoon of exploration. We were able to watch an episode we hadn't yet seen and my son loved that it was all about Sharks! The other three episodes were some of his favorites. One episode, Little Howler, is a storyline that we know and love and it's all about a little wolf pup.

Chris and Martin are unpacking from an adventure and are surprised when a wolf pup pops out of their bags. They have no idea where the little guy came from and must retrace their steps in order to return him back to his pack. They experience that wolves are a very social animal with a close pack structure and frequent visual and audio communication among individual members. With this knowledge and wolf-powered Creature Power Suits the bros are able to fend off a hungry cougar and finally return the pup to his wolf pack.

Each of the four episodes are jam packed with knowledge, entertainment and fun. Any animal loving kid or adult will quickly fall in love with Wild Kratts! This DVD is a must-have for any movie collection.

For more information about the show check out the parents guide on PBS Parents. The head over to PBS Kids to check out fun games and activities the kids can do to expand on what they just learned!

Oh, Ethan's look is so precious!

I think nature shows are a great thing to put on for tv time- they might not actually get to see sharks and other wild creatures in real life, so having a quality, educational show is a great way to learn about them!
