Squeaky Clean Baths the Organic Way with Live Clean Baby

Bathtime at my home is filled with laughter, and tears. My daughter hates baths but my son absolutely loves them! So we are usually either rushing through it or taking our time and having fun. So for the most part we bathe our children separately.

And since my daughter suffers from eczema a bit worse than her brother, we use specific products for her bath time that are different from what we use on him.

For my son we have started to use some wonderful products from Live Clean Baby.

We also use Live Clean's tearless shampoo during our cleaning routine as well. The product has a light clean scent that doesn't bother my son and his hair shines beautifully after each use. Since we only bathe our children every 2-3 days, we wash his hair every time. Even with the frequent use we haven't noticed any build up or other issues we've had with other shampoos.

I also trust my son to use the shampoo himself (with supervision) without worrying that it will irritate his eyes. It's gentle enough that he can rinse the shampoo out of his hair on his own without redness if it accidentally gets into his eyes. I love how independent my son is getting and that I can allow him to do these little tasks himself.

Baby Bath

The baby bath is gentle, soothing, and perfect for those nights that our rambunctious  pre-schooler just won't settle down. I have simply added a few drops into his bath instead of using it as a wash and the calming lavender and aloe seem to do their job perfectly.

Lotion
Even though my son doesn't have quite as much of a problem with dry skin as my daughter does, I still make sure to apply lotion after every bath so that the moisture is trapped inside his skin. The Live Clean Baby lotion is soft and non-greasy. It quickly is absorbed into my son's skin and leaves a gentle scent similar to the shampoo and body wash.

Organic Toddler Bathtime with Dolphin Organics

What I put on my children and what I bathe them with is something I think about and research. From lotions, to sunscreens, to bath products like soap and shampoo; anything that touches my child's skin is scrutinized. Sometimes this can be difficult. How do I know what is, and isn't, good for my children's skin. Recently it came to light that the products I was using on children had changed ingredients without any acknowledgement so I decided to make the switch to a new brand.

I heard about Dolphin Organics last August at BlogHer'11. They were at the Expo of the conference and were very helpful in explaining what ingredients they used and how important it was to them to be as transparent as possible with the ingredients they used. Traumatizing Bath Time

Last night as my son was taking a bath my daughter had a traumatic experience. And for a split second I became that mommy.

The one who'd rather run for the camera then run to save their kid.

After kicking me out of my bath, my son began his. I got dressed, grabbed a book, sat on the toilet and listened to him splash about while his sister watched him.

She doesn't like taking baths. Absolutely refuses to do so and just jumps in the shower with me when she needs to be bathed. She stands on the side of the tub and plays along with her brother as he is in the water and she stays dry.

After watching him play for a bit she decided to join in. She stepped up on the step stool we have next to the sink and started in. They're splashing around having a great time and I'm getting more and more into my book when all of a sudden I hear a big splash followed by a thud.  Oh my word! She fell in!

There she was, fully clothed and completely soaking wet. Crying in shock and looking at me like someone pushed her in. She had no clue how she ended in the tub and she wanted OUT!

And for just a second I almost ran for the camera instead of rescuing her.


I knew she wasn't hurt. And now I regret not taking a picture. Poor little girl. Great end to bath time though!
