This is the time of year that Medicare-eligible seniors can choose or modify their health insurance plan for 2013. The enrollment period for Medicare in 2013 begins on Oct. 15 and ends on Dec. 7, 2012.
When the ones we love reach the age of 65, they have options in who they choose for medical care. And by researching their options and helping them make the important decisions about their future healthcare, we can make this transition a lot easier for them.

Sometimes making decisions about Medicare coverage can be confusing. That’s why you’re invited to attend one of Sharp’s neighborhood meetings to learn about Medicare.
At this free event, Sharp will explain your Medicare options, including Medicare Part A and B, Medicare Advantage plans, premium costs, supplemental coverage, drug benefits and much more, in clear, easy-to-understand language. And there will be time for questions.

More than 30 daytime meetings will be held from Oct. 16 through Dec. 3 at movie theater locations in Carmel Mountain, Chula Vista, La Mesa and Mission Valley.

I work in a pharmacy and am always so saddened by the seniors who don't understand their options when it comes to insurance. THis sounds like a great program!

My great aunt (who is more like a grandmother) is on Medicare. It is so confusing. It is great that there are companies and people like Sharp willing to explain it. My aunt goes to a woman who helps explain it to her and signs her up for what she needs.
